Step into the World of the Anglo-Saxons
At our monthly Home Education Days, families are invited to join us for a day of hands-on activities and creative workshops, designed especially for curious minds and creative hands.
At each workshop, we explore a new history theme, bringing the past to life through interactive experiences.
Our workshops are aimed at children aged 4–13 years, with an accompanying adult supporting their children where needed. With such a broad age range, sessions are delivered at Key Stage 1 and 2 level, with flexibility to suit different learning styles.
In this hands-on workshop set in our authentic hall house, come and explore Anglo-Saxon home life, building techniques, and traditional crafts through practical activities and outdoor investigation.
As part our our Step into the World of the Anglo-Saxons workshop you will:
- Take part in hands-on traditional activities that reflect daily life in Anglo-Saxon times.
- Explore the Mystery Bag: examine real and replica Anglo-Saxon items to work out what they are and how they were used.
- Take part in our House detectives activity.
- Use air drying clay to make your own set of Knuckle bones
