Initial enquiries from schools are often tentative, especially at the current time, and that’s absolutely no problem. We appreciate that circumstances change, and alterations to bookings can usually be accommodated at no extra cost.
Visitor numbers are limited at the current time allowing plenty of space on our extensive and open air site for all visitors; we are also only booking one school per day to minimise interaction between ‘bubbles’ and entry to our historic buildings is controlled by a steward to ensure only one bubble enter at a time.
Admission (and exit) for school groups is now via a different route to the general public and you will have access to a dedicated lunch space and toilet block. All areas currently have an enhanced cleaning regime. Any equipment used within workshops will be sanitised before and after use by your school – please let us know if you are bringing children from more than one bubble so that this can be taken into account when rotating groups through workshops.
Visors/masks will be worn by staff and volunteers working closely with school groups, particularly in indoor spaces, and workshops will be organised in such a way that the staff and volunteers can remain at a distance of at least 1m from the children.
