Tickets are available to pre-book online, or on the day of your visit in our Museum gift shop. When pre-booking you can choose an entry time that suits you and once you’re at the Museum you can stay as long as you like!

The Museum is a registered charity and we encourage our visitors to purchase a Gift Aid admission ticket to further support the Museum. Standard prices are shown in brackets above.

Gift Aid includes a voluntary donation to the Museum, which enables us to claim an extra 25% from the Government on the total amount that you pay.*


Admission to the Museum includes our daytime events and activities, unless otherwise stated. These can be booked under book and buy on the general admission calendar under the date of the visit. (These event and activity days are included in our annual memberships)

Daytime events which are marked as ‘ticketed’ require pre-booking will be listed separately under events on our ticketing pages. (These are also included in our annual memberships, unless otherwise stated).

Open air theatre events are outside our Museum standard opening hours. These are pre-book tickets only (these events are not included in our annual membership, but members receive 10% discount on tickets which must be pre-booked).

Opening Times

We are open daily from 2 January to 23 December.

The Museum will be closed from 4pm on Saturday, 23 December until 10.30am on Tuesday, 2 January 2024. When we re-open for the New Year.


Winter Season:

From the 30 October to 23 December 2023 & 2 January to 29 February 2024

  • we recommend approx. 4 hours for a day visit to the Museum.
  • our stewarded houses start to close from 3pm in the winter and 4.00pm in the summer season.

The Museum is located on Town Lane in Singleton, which is 7 miles north of Chichester:

By Road

The Museum can be reached via the A286 Chichester to Midhurst road. The postcode is PO18 0EU. There is a free car park and disabled parking spaces are available opposite the Museum shop.

By Bus

Catch the Stagecoach 60 service, which runs between Chichester Cathedral and Midhurst – the Museum is a 5-minute walk from the Grooms Yard stop in Singleton.

Buses run every 30 minutes Monday – Saturday. On Sundays buses run every hour. For an up-to-date timetable visit the Stagecoach website

By Train

The Museum is 7 miles from Chichester rail station and 15 miles from Haslemere station. Visit the National Rail website for trains and timetable information.
