How to Knit A Hat
About the Course
Join us for a fun and relaxing day course knitting workshop where you will learn how to knit a hat and create your very first project: a cosy, chunky wool hat (with the option to add a playful bobble). Using 100% natural wool yarn, you’ll learn all the essential knitting skills—casting on, working in garter stitch, shaping, and casting off—guided step by step by your instructor.
By the end of the day, you’ll not only have a stylish handmade hat to wear or gift, but also the confidence and skills to continue your knitting journey. This workshop is perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to refresh the basics in a supportive, creative environment.
Course Tutor
Maggie South leaned to knit at age 7 and has not put her needles down since. She has trained as a knitting teacher and has run after school knitting classes for primary children as well as leading adult workshops and knitting groups. Now retired from her role in Public Health, Maggie enjoys promoting knitting as a way to well-being, understanding how knitting can promote a sense of calm and support mindfulness as well as creativity and social skills.
