At Home with the Tudors

At our monthly Home Education Days, families are invited to join us for a day of hands-on activities and creative workshops, designed especially for curious minds and creative hands.

At each workshop, we explore a new history theme, bringing the past to life through interactive experiences.

Our workshops are aimed at children aged 4–13 years, with an accompanying adult supporting their children where needed. With such a broad age range, sessions are delivered at Key Stage 1 and 2 level, with flexibility to suit different learning styles.

Step back in time and explore daily life in Tudor England!

As part our our At Home with the Tudors workshop you will:

  • Meet our traditionally dressed Tudor and discover the fascinating world of Tudor clothing.
  • Try on authentic-style outfits and learn how garments were made.
  • Get hands-on with wool preparation: card wool so it is ready for spinning.
  • Visit the Tudor Kitchen to uncover what the Tudors ate and how they cooked.
  • Engage in Object Handling to explore real and replica items from the period.
  • Tudor Craft – Making a cup and Ball.
  • Visit our Tudor House and take part in our House Detectives activity.
