The Weald & Downland Living Museum is a unique location for your wedding, set in the heart of the South Downs National Park.
At the Museum, over 50 historic buildings set in a beautiful 19th century park provide an outstanding backdrop for your great day, with plenty of idyllic settings for your photographs.
The Museum currently has two buildings licensed for civil wedding ceremonies:
- The Downland Gridshell, an innovative modern timber building, can accommodate ceremonies for up to 120 people
- The Greenways Field, offering you a blank space to create your own open-air wedding.
Please download our Wedding Brochure for more information.
For 2021 we are now taking enquiries for our beautiful 16th Century Upper Hall, a timber framed building and licenced ceremony room that can seat up to 50 people; and our Greenways Field, a perfect spot in the heart of the South Downs National Park, with our historic Museum as its backdrop. Greenways is a blank canvas for parties of 50 – 250.
Unfortunately, the Downland Gridshell will be in use throughout 2021 as we conserve and repair one of our rescued buildings. We are therefore unable to take any venue hire bookings for this space for 2021.
