Join us for a vibrant day and evening dedicated to all things folk at Roots & Rhythm, a celebration of folk music, folklore, and folk art, in all their rich and colourful forms.

Immerse yourself in a unique cultural experience:
- Live performances by acclaimed local folk artists including Cara Elin, Jon Wilks, and Goblin Band.
- Explore local folk and ritual through interactive workshops, traditional storytelling, and hands-on folk-art demonstrations.
- See demonstrations on the art of wood block printing in Sole Street, with folklore inspired prints.
- Express yourself by making a folk-inspired floral headdress to wear as you celebrate all things Folk!
- Explore folklore and myths with ‘Medieval Tales and Local Legends of Dragons and Devils’ with Ian Pycroft, founder of Black Knight Historical.
- Meet Molly Housego, from Black Knight Historical, as she demonstrates how a wise woman of a Medieval village was an integral part of life in the 14th century.
- Meet the Green Man and Fairy Queen who will be out and about around the Museum.
- Hear the sounds of Historical Music specialist Jez Smith, from Playing in Time, as you can enjoy acoustic music being played on traditional instruments.
- Enjoy acoustic music on a range of instruments being performed in Titchfield Market Hall.
- Have you ever talked to your car? Prayed for it to get through the MOT? Wondered at the weird and wonderful symbols that direct us on the roads? Enter the fascinating and eclectic world of The Museum of Roadside Magic. A travelling Museum exhibition and archive exploring the magic and ritual of driving your car!
- Join in and have a go at folk dancing with Folk Dance Remixed
Food and drink will be available into the evening, set against the scenic beauty of our open-air site.
Our folk festivities run until 8pm, with something for all ages to enjoy!

Please note this is a ticketed event and is not included in our Museum membership. Members will receive a special code to apply their membership 10% discount to tickets.
Members must provide their valid membership number in the box as requested to validate the discount offer.

Additional information:
From 10am until 4pm activities and demonstrations will take place around the 40-acre site, with timed activities during the day (a programme with more information will be added soon!).
From 4pm we will then welcome everyone into our Greenways field, to take a space and relax whilst enjoying the live music on the main stage.
We encourage visitors to bring camping chairs and picnic blankets and pick their spot to enjoy the entertainment. Food and drink stalls are available all day, however we also welcome you to bring your own picnic . Please note we cannot permit alcohol to be brought to the site, there will be licenced bars to buy a range of alcoholic and soft drinks.

Information for Visitors
The Museum’s 40 acres site, historic gardens and buildings are fascinating places to learn about rural history. Visitors can purchase grain from the Museum shop and feed the hungry ducks on the mill pond. Whilst enjoying the great outdoors and fresh air, look out for our working animals, which can include the Heavy Horses. There are a number of lovely woodland trails, including a woodland play area for children to explore.
Why not enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch at our waterside café? Visitors can also bring a picnic as there are plenty of picnic areas available on site. Takeaway refreshments will also be available from our seasonal Shepherd’s Huts located around the Museum.
Dogs on short leads are welcome and there is ample free parking. Please note that the Museum is a no-smoking site. Visitors with access needs are advised to read our accessibility page in advance of their visit.
