Green Father Christmas’ Elf School
Guess who’s coming back to the Museum this December…?
Green Father Christmas is making a flying visit to us this festive season but this time he needs your help!
Have you got what it takes to become a Christmas elf? We are looking to recruit ‘elves in training’ to enrol in our Green Father Christmas’ Elf School.
- Gather round the fire to learn all about the origins of Green Father Christmas before being issued with your ‘Elf in Training’ lanyard.
- Take part in a series of toy making and decorating lessons to develop the skills needed to become a successful elf.
- Show your work off to Green Father Christmas where you will graduate as a fully-fledged elf and receive your well-earned certificate to prove it along with a small gift.
- Finally, celebrate all your festive achievements with a delicious hot chocolate! What better way to get in the Christmas spirit?

Additional Information
Tickets will show the time of the session you have booked for that day, but you can have access to the Museum from 10am when it opens. You need to be at the Museum prompt for the time on your ticket, as this is the time that your Father Christmas’ Elf School activities will start. Each session lasts approximately 2 hours, you are free to explore the whole Museum as part of your visit either before or after the activity session.
We have a capacity of 12 children and up to 12 adults per session, each child must be accompanied by an adult, but an adult can accompany more than one child.
If other family members wish to visit the Museum with you, but not attend the Green Father Christmas’ Elf School, you can purchase tickets for the same day from our daily admissions calendar. When you put your session tickets in your basket, the option to add tickets for the rest of the family will appear. you can just choose the tickets and the same date and time will be added to your basket.
For those with a Museum membership, you do not need to book at ticket to visit the Museum, just show your valid membership card on arrival when you present your children(s) tickets for the Green Father Christmas’ Elf School activity sessions. All children wanting to take part in the Elf School activities must have a pre-booked ticket, these tickets will not be available on the day.
Spaces will be limited on each day and must be pre-booked in advance. We will ask for your child’s name and age at the ticket purchase, this is only to help us prepare for your visit.

How to Book
As we have limited spaces for this activity, we are only able to have one adult per child, but an adult can accompany more than one child. If you are want to visit with 2 adults with 2 or more children, you need to add your tickets to your basket as follows.
When you chose your tickets, you can only add one adult and up to three children at a time. If you want to add two adults with two plus children, you need to put one adult and one child in your basket for your chosen date, then go back and select the same for the other adult and child and add to your basket. You can then purchase all the tickets in the same transaction.
