
All Hallows’ Eve
Are you looking for something special, spooky and uniquely different to do to celebrate All Hollows’ Eve? Then look no further than a visit to the Museum this October 31 . Upon arrival, pick up a spooky pass for £2 which will allow to take part in all four of our hauntingly historic activities. Collect a spooky stamp at each activity to complete your pass.
(All activities can be completed in any order between 10.30am – 3.30pm with the exception of the story telling session which will be for 20 minutes beginning at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm)
Mystics in the Woods
Are you ready for a magical and mystical encounter in the woodlands? Follow the lantern trail which will lead you to an otherworldly experience. Our magical mystics invite you into their Medieval Home this All Hallows’ Eve. Once inside you will be gifted with a spell jar to fill with your choice of ancient, natural and magical ingredients. Our mystics will help you to seal your jar tight with wax before issuing you with an oracle card and sending you on your journey.
Plague Potions
Meet the plague doctor and step back in time to immerse yourself in the world of Medieval medicine and make a protective potion. This hands-on activity offers a gruesome insight into how people in the past may have tried to ward off some truly terrifying diseases.
Ghostly Tales with The Bard Dawn
Huddle round the fire and listen to our resident storyteller who will be telling spooky stories and ghastly tales from the past . Session lost approx. 20 minutes and start promptly at the following time. 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
All Hallows’ Eve Craft Activities
Design your own ritual mark and draw it on parchment using quill and ink, make a lucky talisman from air drying clay and create your own nature wand.
In addition, you can also take part and complete our Ritual Marks and Hidden Objects Trail.
Ritual Marks and Hidden Objects Trail – Go on a spooky adventure to find ritual marks and hidden objects whilst learning about the folklore and superstitions of the past. Discover how they were believed to protect homes from the evil spirits!
