To a medieval puppet show? A Tudor tabletop joust? A Victorian schoolroom? One of our 50 historic buildings? Or out into 40 acres of fresh air, woodland paths, working animals and open space?
Across the summer, the answer changes.
With your pass, you can return for favourite activities, follow different trails, enjoy living history events and move through three eras of childhood across the season.
Childhood Through Time
What did children do before screens?
This summer, childhood takes centre stage at the Museum.
Across the centuries, children have always found ways to play, compete, help, make, imagine and test themselves. Childhood Through Time brings those stories to life through trails, games, demonstrations and hands-on history.
Every day during the summer holidays Families can enjoy:
- The Toys Through Time Trail
- Historic houses to step inside
- Traditional games and family play
- Working animals and demonstrations
- Space to run, climb, picnic and explore

Three eras to discover
Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, families can enjoy extra hands-on childhood in time activities across the Museum, with a new historic era to explore every fortnight.
