Saxon Focus Week

Nestled in the beautiful landscape of the South Downs National Park, the Weald & Downland Living Museum offers families of all ages, an enjoyable and captivating day out in the great outdoors.

Join us to see some daily changing demonstrations and displays on elements of every day Saxon life.

From our Saxon hall, which represents life at c.950AD, you can find out more about textiles, language, or woodworking (treewrighting) daily.

There will also be a linked craft activity, especially aimed at younger visitors, in the House from Sole Street.

This week includes the Historic Life weekend on Saturday 30 & Sunday 31 July – please see the full programme here: https://www.wealddown.co.uk/events/working-the-land-feast-of-the-first-fruits/

Also enjoy exploring the rest of the historic buildings and workshops of the Museum, and our outdoor spaces – including the 6 historic gardens, traditionally-managed woodland and heavy horses who work in the arable field
