Pole Lathe Bowl Turning – Sold Out

The Course

Starting with an axed out bowl blank from half a log, participants learn how to shape it into a bowl suitable for soup or cereal, using a foot powered pole lathe. 

The Tutor

Amy Leake has been working with green wood for 10 years and has taught and studied in the UK, Sweden and Lithuania.

Participant Information

It is advisable to bring a pad and pencil. All other tools and materials will be provided. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. The course takes place in the Downland Gridshell so it is advisable to wear layers as the building can be cool.

Pole lathe bowl turning requires a general level of fitness and mobility, being similar in intensity to walking uphill. Please wear comfy footwear and clothing that allows for leg movement.

Fee & Refreshments
