
Natural Dyes
The Course
Take part in a hands-on day using common plants, including those from the Museum site, to dye wool. We will take a look at where some of the plants grow in the historic gardens at the Museum, and explore how the dyes are prepared.
The Tutor
Fiona Hargreaves is an historic interpreter at the Weald and Downland Living Museum.
Participant Information
Please bring with you a pen and notebook, apron or other protective clothing, plastic bags, rubber gloves and large tickets for labelling your yarns. Participants will be provided with skeins of wool to dye with on the day. Please wear or bring sturdy/water proof shoes with you.
Fee & Refreshments
£65 per person, to include tuition, teas and coffees. Please let the Museum know in advance if you have any dietary requirements. The Museum café will be open or you can bring a packed lunch.
