The Course

A chance to learn the ancient art of falconry, this day offers an enchanting encounter with birds of prey. Learn about the differences between Hawks, Falcons and Owls through practical handling sessions and amazing outdoor flight experiences with the birds flying to your gloved fist. A unique and awe-inspiring introduction to falconry.

Tailored for those who have a keen interest in falconry and birds of prey. During the course you will gain a basic understanding of birds of prey, their training and care, and hands-on experience of holding and flying falconry birds.

The Tutor

Paul Manning is Lord Montague’s Falconer he runs Amews Falconry , is a fully accredited Raptor award assessor has practised Falconry for over 30 years and is chairman of the Wessex Falconry & Hampshire hawking club.

Amews Falconry is a fully accredited centre for falconry training and for the official Raptor Awards, National Award for Falconry.

Participant Information

All equipment is provided. The course will take place outside please wear weather appropriate clothing.

This course is weather dependent, we will get in touch with all participants to rearrange a new date with the tutor if it was not possible to run the course due to very poor weather conditions.

Fee & Refreshments

£125 per person, to include tuition, teas and coffees. If you have any other dietary requirements please let us know in advance.
