The Course

Have you always wanted to improve your drawing skills or learn the fundamentals of sketching? This beginner-friendly sketching course introduces essential drawing techniques, textures and perspective to help you develop confidence in your artwork.

During this hands-on drawing workshop, you will learn how to sketch accurately and expressively, while exploring techniques used by professional artists. The course covers key skills such as basic perspective, sight-measuring with your pencil, and creating realistic textures.

Working with pencils, pens, chalk and charcoal, participants will practise observational drawing while being inspired by the Museum’s beautiful historic surroundings. This relaxed and supportive class is perfect for anyone looking to learn how to sketch or improve their drawing techniques.

By the end of the course, you will be able to create quick, accurate and expressive sketches using a variety of materials and techniques.
