Historic Life Weekend: Midsummer & Plant Lore

Saturday 22 June to Sunday 23 June 2019
10.30am - 5.30pm

A special interest weekend at midsummer with talks and tours through our 6 historic gardens and displays to explore traditional ideas and uses around different herbs and plants.

Each of the gardens is set to the era of the home it surrounds. Within the gardens you will find the plants known at this point in time. Find out about plant-lore and what was particularly prized in lower status households through the ages.

Heritage seeds and herbs will be on sale in the Museum shop.

Programme for Saturday 22 June
Programme for Sunday 23 June

For 2019 we have a new series of Historic Life weekends focusing on different historical angles of the Museum’s collection. There will be a chance to chat to experts, see demonstrations and displays as well as explore the Museum. These are ideal for people specifically interested in the subject areas, as well as those generally interested and looking for an enjoyable, relaxing day out with a difference.
