The Gridshell is a striking and architecturally stunning space, not only because of its distinctive design and aesthetic appeal but also due to its historical significance, as it was one of the first structures of its kind to be built in the UK.

This venue is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and blessings of all kinds, making it a perfect choice for a wide variety of celebrations.

With an open-plan layout and a capacity of up to 180 guests, the Gridshell provides a wonderful sense of space and atmosphere, no matter the weather. Its setting is slightly more secluded, nestled within our woodland area, offering a peaceful and picturesque backdrop. A beautiful decking area extends from the venue into the Museum grounds, allowing your guests to enjoy the rich surroundings and history of the site.

The hire of the Gridshell is available as a weekend package, which includes three days:

• Friday for setup and deliveries
• Saturday for your event
• Sunday for pack-down and collection of any items or equipment

A dedicated Venue Coordinator will be on hand on both Friday and Saturday to ensure everything runs smoothly. They will also be available to assist with planning, deliveries, and general support.

The venue also includes a spacious kitchen area for your chosen caterers to use with their own equipment, and there is ample on-site parking for your guests and suppliers.

As a dry hire venue, the Gridshell offers complete flexibility, allowing you to bring your own vision to life and add your personal touches to every detail. To support your planning, we provide a brochure filled with recommended suppliers and wedding inspiration to help spark your creativity.
