When pre-booking you can choose an entry time that suits you and once you’re at the Museum you can stay as long as you like! Please note that the last entry time to the Museum is 2 hours before closing time.

We are an independent Museum and charity and we value your support. If you are a UK tax payer and choose to Gift Aid when you buy your ticket, we can treat your purchase as a donation. This allows us to claim 25p for every £1 spent at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support.

  • Admission to the Museum includes our daytime events and activities, unless otherwise stated.
  • Daytime events which are marked as ‘ticketed’ require pre-booking will be listed separately under events on our ticketing pages.

 

Parking at the Museum

Parking is available onsite at the Museum, where we operate two car parks.

As of Monday, 30 March we will be operating our car parks as follows:

  • Pay & Display car park: This will be FREE to park for our Museum Members and Blue Badge holders, along with pre-booked coach bays. This is signposted to the left as you enter the Museum grounds. Members must display their special Museum members car parking sticker (Please ask in the Museum shop if you have not yet received one – these will only be issued from the Museum shop).
  • Café visitor parking: This will be available along the road behind the café. We ask that visitors only use these spaces if they are visiting the Café only.
  • FREE car park: For all visitors to use. This is signposted to the right as you enter the Museum grounds and is approximately 400 yards from the Cafe and shop. On parking in this car park, there is a short 5-minute walk to the Museum entrance via the shop.

Photography at our Museum

We welcome photography for personal and non-commercial use, it is your responsibility to ensure copyright and other laws are not infringed.

Photographs can be taken for domestic use only. Should you wish to use any of the photographs for commercial purpose (such as wedding, engagement and/or occasion photography, including where a fee has been paid or research for film and television productions) you will require further permissions. Please contact venuehire@wealddown.co.uk for more information.

The use of tripods, monopods or supplementary lighting is not permitted, this is to ensure the safety of visitors, staff and volunteers and prevent damage to our exhibits and collections.

Drones are not permitted. This is to ensure the safety and security of our staff and volunteers, visitors and local residents, our exhibits, collections, and private areas, and to prevent disturbance for our livestock.

Commercial or larger scale filming or photography is not permitted without prior agreement and arrangement with the museum’s venue hire team. For enquiries, email venuehire@wealddown.co.uk.

Photographers are asked to make sure they have asked for permission from anyone: members of staff, volunteers and other visitors, prior to taking their photograph.

Photographs should never be taken of children or school groups who are visiting the Museum if they are not part of your party or group.

If in the judgement of the Museum staff, behaviour of a visitor shows reluctance to comply then this will be reported to the identified safeguarding lead or a senior member of staff.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to the Museum, or ask someone to leave, if photography is deemed inappropriate by a member of the Museum team.
