Smoking
From the 1st July 2007 the Museum is
a NON-SMOKING SITE and smoking will
not be permitted in any of the buildings or open spaces or anywhere else
within the curtilage of the site. Smoking will be allowed in the car
parking areas.
Disabled Access
An information sheet on wheelchair/disabled access to the
site is available from the ticket office.

Café
Enjoy a meal made with our own milled flour and produce fresh
from the gardens in a timber framed medieval hall.
Overflow Café
During the summer season an
overflow café
serving light refreshments operates from the Winkhurst Tudor kitchen from 12.00
- 5.00pm .
Picnic Area
Picnic tables are provided in a perfect and secluded setting
next to the millpond. Eat in comfort, relax and simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity
while the children feed the ducks! You may also picnic anywhere in the open areas of
the site.
Guidebooks
A comprehensive guidebook giving a fully detailed history of the
buildings and their construction is available on entry. A further guidebook
describes The Bayleaf Medieval Farmstead, a major exhibit. Brief guides are
available in French, German and Dutch.
Children
Please take special care of children on the site. Working
demonstrations and animals can be hazardous.
Dogs
Are welcome and must be kept on a lead
Photography
We welcome amateur photography throughout the Museum site and
buildings
Filming Location
The museum is frequently
used as a location for TV and film shoots. For further information contact

Litter
Please take your litter home and recycle it.
Shop
The shop has an extensive selection of gifts in keeping with the theme
of the Museum including locally produced foods and crafts, postcards and souvenirs.
The museum is the UK stockist
for the famous range of axes manufactured by Gränsfors Bruks AB.
Bookshop
The
bookshop contains an extensive
range of publications on Historic Buildings and Building Conservation, rural crafts and
countryside subjects. These are also available by post.
Post Office
In April 2000 a Post Office was established in the shop to provide
facilities for the local village and visitors to the Museum following the closure of
the local post office. As well as the usual services, limited banking services with
the Co-op, Lloyds and the Alliance and Leicester banks are available. Opening hours
are 10.00am to 2.00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; 10.00am to 1.00pm on
Wednesday, closed Friday.
