The Course

Try your hand at colourful marbling techniques and enjoy the mindfulness that the craft brings.

In this workshop, you will spend the morning learning some basic colourful marbling patterns, combining traditional European, Turkish and Japanese techniques. In the afternoon, once the designs have dried, you will use the papers to make simple stitched books and bookmarks.

The Tutor

Rachel O’Connell is a marbling artist and leatherworker who has over 30 years of experience practicing this endangered craft, and is keen on passing this heritage craft on to future generations. She aims to create beautiful, practical products as well as educate students in the processes of traditional English, Turkish and Japanese techniques and promote the mindfulness and therapeutic benefits of the skill.

Participant Information

The course will be limited to 10 participants.

Participants should wear old clothes and shoes. Aprons and latex-free gloves are provided.

Fee & Refreshments

£65.00 per person, to include tuition, materials, teas and coffees and biscuits. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know in advance.
