The Course

Learn how to make a basic sturdy traditional Sweet Chestnut gate hurdle to go around stock or in a gateway.

The Tutor

Julian Bell is Curator at the Weald and Downland Living Museum. He is responsible for the care, research, interpretation and development of the designated buildings and artefact collections and improvements to their public access. He oversees the Museum Woodyard and undertakes various green woodworking demonstrations.

Participant Information

You do not need to bring any equipment but please wear sturdy footwear and bring outdoor clothes as this course takes place outdoors.

Fee & Refreshments

£70 per person, to include tuition, teas and coffees. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know in advance. The Museum cafe will be open or you may wish to bring a packed lunch
