An Exciting New Addition

Working Animals Supervisor, Andy, has a second Percheron joining him and our team of working horses. At three years old, Thor is too young for various tasks but will slowly begin his training.

When Andy arrived at the Museum three years ago he came with his Percheron horse, Kash, who regularly works here alongside Ollie and Leon. Over the last few months many visitors will have seen Andy ploughing with Kash, Ollie and Leon together, as he prepared the ground for this season.

On Saturday 8th May, you will have the chance to learn more from the stable team about the role of working heavy horses and their seasonal farming tasks as part of our latest Historic Life Weekend ‘From the Earth – Soil Health’. Click here to find out more.
