Fun-packed days of children’s activities each Wednesday in August!
Every Wonderful Wednesday throughout August, accompanied children can enjoy hands-on arts, crafts and traditional countryside activities with a focus on summer in the South Downs.
Wet weather won’t spoil play as there are plenty of undercover areas.
There are a host of activities to enjoy and children of all ages can channel their excitement and energy into a range of hands-on activities.
Each Wednesday a selection of the following activities will be available – some require booking on the day, so please ask our staff for details:
- Make a Tudor bath bomb
- Try blacksmithing (suitable for over 8s)
- Create a candle
- Do some willow weaving
- Have a go at the pole lathe
The Museum’s historic buildings are great places to explore: learn how food was prepared in the Tudor kitchen; see how a watermill works and look out for the Shire horses, sheep, pigs, chickens and geese.
Wonderful Wednesdays will take place on the following dates. We aim to add lists of available activities to each date’s event page shortly in advance:
Whatever the weather it’s a great opportunity to bring friends and family to the Museum’s idyllic location.
