Hallowe'en fun at Weald & Downland Living Museum

Head to the Museum for half term fun with a Hallowe’en theme! From Monday, 22 to Friday, 26 October, children can get hands-on with a great range of activities around the Museum’s beautiful 40-acre site.

Activities vary daily and plan to include:

  • pumpkin carving
  • face painting
  • spine-tingling stories
  • scary eyes pumpkin hunt
  • floating ghosts
  • paper pumpkins
  • leaf clay dish
  • playdough
  • string mummies
  • plus many more ‘make and take home’ activities.

Visiting children are encouraged to wear fancy dress for their Hallowe’en visit and can pick a free sweet treat from our lucky dip at the Museum’s shop.

Wet weather won’t spoil play as activities will take place indoors or under cover. Most activities are included in the admission price (free for Annual Members) and those that have a small charge are clearly marked on the daily activity sheet.

Hallowe’en half term activities run from 11am–3pm daily and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please wear clothes and shoes that are suitable for playing outdoors.

The Museum’s waterside café will be open, plus there are indoor and outdoor picnic areas. Regular Museum admission prices apply (free for Annual Members of the Museum).

Dogs on short leads are welcome and there is ample free parking. Visitors with disabilities are advised to read our accessibility page in advance of their visit.
