Official opening of Volunteers Hub building

We are delighted to announce the opening of our new Volunteers’ Hub building!

This is a key new space that offers our 400 volunteers a base at the Museum, from which they can be welcomed each day, sign-in, update their rota availability at their dedicated PC and have meetings with the Volunteer Coordinator in privacy.

Phil Gorrian, Volunteer Coordinator, said:

“The Volunteers’ Hub is a great success already and it’s the first time in the Museum’s history that we have had a dedicated space for our volunteers. Our team can now sign in digitally each day, interact with other volunteers and have a space that offers them everything they need for their time at the Museum. There are lots of volunteering opportunities at the Museum and all volunteers are provided with full training and support to learn new skills.”

Investment in the volunteer infrastructure continues at the museum and now is a great time to join, as it is the beginning of the 2017 season.

Benefits of becoming a volunteer include a full induction to the Museum, regular training sessions on skills and history, free entry to the Museum for you and a guest, plus discounts on evening talks.

If you are interested in volunteering, take a look at our volunteering webpage and register online to find out more about the opportunities available.
