To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, we want to send Her Majesty the Queen the BIGGEST congratulations from the Weald & Downland Living Museum and its visitors!
Throughout half term week, 28 May – 5 June, drop by the Museum shop or café and pick up a special Jubilee postcard. Here you can write a message and draw a picture for the Queen before handing it back to us for inclusion in our royal parcel, which will be sent to Buckingham Palace on Monday 6 June. We are hoping to send as many postcards as possible.
If you can’t make it to the Museum over half term you can still take part in The Big Jubilee Hurrah. Simply download and print a copy of the postcard and return it back to us either by post or by dropping it into the cafe/shop before Monday 6 June.

Our Big Jubilee Hurrah is just one of a wonderful array of family fun activities taking place this half term.
From helping to decorate the Museum’s bunting to creating a badge to celebrate someone or something special to you, there will be plenty of hands-on crafting to enjoy as well as opportunities to learn new skills such as making your own lavender bag or a clay medal to mark the Jubilee.
You can also deepen your knowledge of the monarchy with a fascinating trail, where you can fill in a personal fact file for each monarch along the way! Or why not make a peg-doll Queen and decorate it to depict the fashion from any era of her 70-year reign?
Adventure, exploration and learning awaits children of all ages at our wonderful open air museum. With over 50 historic buildings, stunning woodland and plenty of opportunity to discover live demonstrations and displays that teach us about our past, it is the ideal day out for all the family.
