Wonderful Weeks (throughout August)
Nestled in the beautiful landscape of the South Downs National Park, the Weald & Downland Living Museum offers families of all ages, an enjoyable and captivating day out in the great outdoors.
Museum’s popular Wonderful Weeks are back for August 2022, offering an exciting programme of family fun and activities every day of the week throughout August
The theme this year is traditional games and pastimes, with a programme that changes weekly and a scorecard to use each week.
Week 1 – Natural world games (Monday 1 to Sunday 7 August 2022)
Example activities include shadow puppets, nature trail, orienteering, craft boats and stick challenge.
Week 2 – Hobbies & pastimes (Monday 8 to Sunday 14 August 2022)
Example activities include shove ha’penny, postage stamp activity, finger puppets, song, pressed daisy craft.
Week 3 – Team or group games (Monday 15 to Sunday 21 August 2022)
Example activities include song or chant rounds, tag, capture the flag, bowling and quoits, team puzzle.
Week 4 – Personal challenges (Monday 22 to Wednesday 31 August 2022)
Example activities include hoop and stick, egg & spoon distance challenge, memory game, hop scotch, singing kettle challenge.
Full programme for each week will follow approximately 3 weeks in advance.

Due to social distancing, only limited numbers are allowed on site each day so booking in advance is essential.
