Make a Copper Cup

Course Description

Using traditional silversmithing methods of sinking, raising and planishing, Anna will guide you through the process of making your own tumbler cup from copper.

The Tutor

Anna Rennie is a Silversmith and teacher who gained a BA (Hons) in Silversmithing & Jewellery at Truro College and went on to train further at Bishopsland. Anna specializes in several traditional silversmithing methods especially raising. She also teaches regular jewellery and silversmithing courses as well as exhibiting her work across the UK.

Participant Information

Please bring earplugs or ear defenders if possible as this can be a noisy (but fun) workshop. You will need some dexterity and hand strength as this course consists of a good deal of hammering. If you have a compass and pencil, please bring them with you.

All other tools and materials will be provided. This course is for people aged 18 and over only.

Fee & Refreshments

£190 per person, including tuition, teas and coffees. Please let the Museum know in advance of any dietary requirements. The Museum café will be open for lunch or alternatively participants can bring their own packed lunch.
