Magical Protection of Historic Buildings
The Course
A lecture-based day to find out more about how the elements of protection that were part of the fabric of historic buildings. These might be spiritual middens, the contents of which have been carefully analysed as well as exactly where they have been found in the building. These groupings of object might include clothing, household objects, furniture fragments and items connected with trade or working animals.
The Tutor
Timothy Easton is an independent academic, and has written widely on rituals and superstition in early buildings.
Participant Information
You may wish to bring paper and pen. The course will include a walk to selected buildings, it is advisable to wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
Fee & Refreshments
£70 per person, to include tuition, teas, coffees and a light lunch. Please let the Museum know in advance if you have any dietary requirements.
