Gate Hurdle Making Day

The Course

Do you need a gate for your driveway or a fence to cordon off an area of the garden? Join us on this one-day course to learn how to make a traditional sturdy Sweet Chestnut gate hurdle.

The Tutor

Julian Bell is Curator at the Weald and Downland Living Museum. He is responsible for the care, research, interpretation and development of the designated buildings and artefact collections. As part of his job he also oversees the Museum Woodyard delivering a range of green woodworking demonstrations throughout the year.

Participant Information

You do not need to bring any equipment but please wear sturdy footwear and bring outdoor clothes as this course takes place outdoors.

Fee & Refreshments

£75 per person, to include tuition, teas and coffees. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know in advance. The Museum cafe will be open or you may wish to bring a packed lunch
