From Honey & Beeswax to Cosmetics & Soap

The Course

Learn to make Honey & Beeswax Beauty Products with Dr Sara Robb. All-Natural Beekeeper’s Soap is one of Sara’s Same-Day Soap formulations (you can use the soap the day you make it- no waiting for the soap to cure). Delightfully simple, Beekeeper’s soap is gentle, moisturising and has a good lather. We will also make Rose Honey Bath Melts with honey, shea butter, and essential oils. With rose petals on top, these little bath treats are exquisite. The final product, In the Pink Cleansing Balm, is a facial cleanser made with calamine clay that leaves your skin clean and hydrated. You will have a selection of pampering beauty products containing beeswax and honey when you leave the course.

The Tutor

After leaving academic research, Dr Sara Robb began making cosmetics with honey and beeswax. Sara’s formulations are available in books published by Northern Bee Books and in numerous journal articles (British Beekeeping Journal, Bee Craft, BBKA News, Bees for Development Journal). Sara runs workshops at the National Honey Show and BBKA Spring Convention each year and is a cosmetic safety assessor who specialises in writing Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSRs) for beekeepers.

Participant Information

Part of the day is hands-on so you might wish to bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting a dirty.
