clay animation workshop

Children’s clay animation workshop

Friday 25 August 2017
Activity runs from 1pm to 4.30pm

Come and take part in a clay animation workshop and create your own stop motion film!

We’ll spend the first 30 minutes exploring the museum to gather ideas and inspiration for the workshop. We will then use animation clay and other craft materials to design a stage set and figures for the animations. Children will learn how to use cameras and animation software to photograph an animations and will be able to add sounds, titles and credits to their films. Lara Leslie, the artist and film maker leading the workshop and members of the Museum team will assist throughout this process. After the session you will receive a digital copy of your work.

It will be an active session; please wear old clothes and be ready to get stuck in.

This activity is designed for unaccompanied young people aged 9-14 years old.

Pre-booking is essential. The workshop costs £26. Please bring a drink and a snack for mid afternoon.
