Choice Grenfell – Open Air Theatre
Join us at the Weald & Downland Living Museum on Monday, 31 August for a heart-warming 40th anniversary tribute to the unremittingly genteel, comedienne and monologist, Joyce Grenfell.
Gates open 6:15 pm. Performance begins 7.00 pm.
Choice Grenfell by Kick In The Head Productions is a wonderful tribute, featuring some of the best of Joyce’s hilarious songs and monologues from Stately as a Galleon and School Nativity Play to A Terrible Worrier and First Flight. Joyce is our guide for a delightful delve into some of her most endearing characters, ably accompanied by her trusted pianist William Blezard.
We are delighted that the family of William Blezard have allowed Kick In The Head productions access to previously unpublished rehearsal recordings and personal letters from Joyce, allowing a unique insight into the queen of comediennes.
Directed by Simon Downing, and Staring Suzanne Walters as Joyce Grenfell and Andrew D Brewis as William Blezard.
As Joyce would have said “We request the pleasure of your company”.
