Free-style metallic blackwork

Saturday 12 October 2019

The course

Inspired by 16th century Blackwork styles, have fun adding your own choice of insects, birds and floral motifs to a basic outlined design depicting leaves and twining stems. A range of motifs will be available to work from or further adapt and personalise, all of which will then be transferred to the fabric with the use of a light-box. All the materials required for the course will be provided, but please remember to bring your sewing glasses.

The tutor

Caroline Vincent is the author of two books on sampler embroidery, and has an international reputation for specialising in creative contemporary pictorial samplers. Her commissions are held in both public and private collections, and she combines her studio work with exhibiting and lecturing.
