Every Wednesday in August, accompanied children can enjoy hands-on arts, crafts and traditional countryside activities with a focus on summer in the South Downs.
There are a host of activities to enjoy and children of all ages can channel their excitement and energy into a range of hands-on activities. Wet weather won’t spoil play as there are plenty of undercover areas.
Each Wednesday a selection of the following activities will be available:
- Make a Tudor bath bomb
- Try blacksmithing
- Create a candle
- Do some willow weaving
- Have a go at the pole lathe
The historic buildings in our collection are great places to explore: learn how food was prepared in the Tudor kitchen; see how a watermill works and look out for the Shire horses, sheep, pigs, chickens and geese.
Whatever the weather it’s a great opportunity to bring friends and family to the Museum’s idyllic location in the heart of the South Downs National Park near Chichester.
