We are pleased to announce that NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies) are to participate in our Autumn Countryside Show, 7–8 October.
The Sussex Area of NAFAS is having an exhibition of work at the show, creating a “flower trail” when some of the Museum’s collection of rescued historic houses will be delightfully decorated with floral arrangements.
In the Museum’s Building Crafts Gallery there will be an exhibition of eight large scale modern designs by some of NAFAS’s most talented designers – several of whom are multiple Chelsea Gold Medal winners.
Visit the NAFAS stand in the Horticultural Marquee there will be an exhibition of 18 period designs from circa 3,000 to the present day. Come and learn some techniques to create your own interesting designs and to find a flower club near you.
Our popular Autumn Countryside Show features traditional working demonstrations – including heavy horses and vintage tractors ploughing – steam-powered threshing, plus a Horticultural Show, woodland and rural craft demonstrations, displays and competitions.
The Museum’s 40-acre downland site is the perfect location for this annual festival, which celebrates and showcases many traditional countryside activities. Vintage tractors will be busy preparing the ground for sowing after the harvest and there will be a display of tractors and farm implements for visitors to enjoy.
We hope that you can join us for this delightful seasonal show on the weekend of 7–8 October – find out more about the event here.
