Museums at Night: evening guided tour

By 6 May 2015January 26th, 2021No Comments

The Weald & Downland Open Air Museum is participating in the National Museums at Night event this month.

Discover the Magic of the Museum at Night!

On the evenings of Friday 15 and Saturday 16 May, the Museum will be open from 8.45pm – 11.00pm for pre-booked visitors to experience Museums at Night guided walks.

Beginning at 9pm, each enchanting walk through the Museum will stop to visit a selection of our historic houses – each authentically lit by fire and candle light – to discover how their inhabitants would have lived during the hours of dusk and darkness.

How did they light the dark? What did they do in the evenings? What did darkness mean to them? The evening will end with hot drinks and biscuits.

Tickets are £15 each and can be purchased in the Museum shop, by phone on 01243 811021 or via email to courses@www.wealddown.co.uk.
