On Friday, 19 and Saturday, 20 May we will open our doors from 8.45pm for pre-booked visitors to experience our atmospheric Museum at Night.
These night tours offer a truly out of the ordinary experience – you will be guided by lamplight to different spaces around the Museum, to hear a series of short night-time stories. Some will be amusing, some mysterious and some downright odd. Some are definitely not the stuff to ensure sweet dreams. Each story has a historical root, as truth is far stranger than fiction.
At the end of the evening, participants are invited gather around an open fire for a calming spiced warm drink of an alcoholic or non-alcoholic variety, plus a biscuit.
Not for the faint of heart! Tickets are limited and must be booked in advance.
Tickets are £25 each and can be booked online.
Guests should arrive at 8.45pm and meet at the Museum shop and ticket office for a prompt 9pm start. Walks will last approximately two hours.
Please note that there is limited seating in the Museum’s historic houses and the evening will involve an amount of walking on uneven surfaces.
