Rosamund Fowler

Rosamund was born in Edinburgh in 1963. She trained at Edinburgh College of Art and graduated in 1985 with a degree in Illustration and Design.

In a departure from watercolour and ink illustrations, Rosamund has also produced larger scale oil paintings using a glaze technique to build up luminosity and colour.

Most recently, she has specialised in wood engraving and printmaking and is now exhibiting with success in this medium, including being selected 3 times for the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy.

She has also had a print purchased for the Ashmolean Museum print archive and been awarded the Bewick Prize for one of her engravings.

She has developed her own range of hand-printed wood engraving greetings cards, which are stocked in many galleries and shops including Tate Britain and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Rosamund is an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers and now lives and works in the South Downs, West Sussex.
