Explorer Activity Week, 25-29 July

By 12 July 2016January 26th, 2021No Comments

We are running an exciting new five-day programme for 8- to 12-year-olds to spend a fun and creative week with us at the beginning of the summer holidays.

We have an exciting and busy programme planned, and each day’s activities will build on skills learnt earlier in the week.

Over the five days, participating children will enjoy a variety of different creative activities, including: pottery, simple bookbinding, textile work and blacksmithing – it’s the perfect activity club for young people who like crafts and making things!

During the week, each child will be working towards the ‘Explore’ level Arts Award level, so everyone will receive a certificate at the end of the week.

Although the Arts Award is a National qualification, the emphasis of the whole week is on having fun with a new group of friends and trying creative activities linked with the Museum’s work.

Young people will benefit from the Museum’s fantastic environment and will use it as inspiration for their artwork.

To wrap up the week, participating children can invite guests to join a celebratory mini-exhibition on Friday 29 July, which will showcase all of the work they have created.

How to book

Pre-booking is essential and the cost of the full week is £125 per young person (individual days are not available).

Activities will run from 10.15am to 3.00pm, from Monday 25 to Friday 29 July.

Please note that these are not drop-in activities, as the programme runs for the whole week.
