Marilyn Scott

Marilyn Scott was formerly Director of the award winning Lightbox in Woking Surrey. She is now a consultant for heritage and arts organisations, working in the fields of Business Planning, Strategy and Governance. Marilyn has worked in national museums, at both the V&A and Science Museum and for The National Trust.

Marilyn joined the Museum as a Trustee in 2019, is also a Trustee of Brooklands Museum and West Horsley Place Trust. Marilyn is a former panel member for NLHF London and SE. She is a mentor to a number of small volunteer run museums seeking accreditation and a consultant for AIM and AHF. Marilyn also has international experience and formerly worked as a consultant for The British Council advising museums in Taiwan, Georgia and China on business models and operations.

Marilyn has lived in Ripley, Surrey for 30 years and is passionate about the conservation of the Greenbelt and the beautiful Surrey Hills, she has two grown up children who surprisingly still like museums!
