Lucy Hockley MA AMA FRSA
Cultural Engagement Manager
Lucy is responsible for coordinating informal learning opportunities at the Museum and the way we explain our collection and environment to visitors. This includes our work with schools and families. These areas of activity are delivered by a small team of staff and freelancers alongside many volunteers.
She is also involved as part of the team working on the Heritage Lottery Funded Gateway Project and looks for collaborative opportunities or projects to develop the programme we offer at the Museum to enhance the visitor experience.
Lucy is a community governor of a local primary school, Council member of Europa Nostra, Jury member of the EU Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra awards, Treasurer of Sussex Museums Group and Networking group member of a European Network for religious heritage.
Previously she has volunteered for a number of different heritage organisations, worked on learning activities at the British Museum and for English Heritage, volunteered and worked for a children’s educational charity and delivered academic and business intensive training courses in Europe and beyond.
