To celebrate UNESCO World Poetry Day — held on Wednesday 21st March 2018 — we are holding a poetry competition!
Poems can be on any subject related to the Museum — wow us with words about our woodland, paint a picture of our buildings in verse or transport us back to a memorable visit with your creative writing.
The competition is open to all students who have visited or will visit with their school within 12 months of this year’s World Poetry Day, and the winner from each Key Stage will receive a Family Day Pass to the Museum as well as have their poem shared on our website.
Entries can be sent by email to [email protected] with the subject heading “World Poetry Day Entry”, or by post to Weald & Downland Living Museum, Singleton, Chichester, PO18 0EU and marked for the attention of the Schools Team.
Entries should be accompanied by the full name and age of the entrant, their school name and year group. Without this information we will regretfully not be able to award prizes. Entries will only be considered from pupils who have visited with their school or who have a visit booked with us between March 2017 and March 2019.
All entries should reach us by the end of the day on Wednesday 2st March 2018. Winners will be announced in April via the Museum website.
