Help us – and we’ll help you!
Government
rules on Gift Aid have changed – and here’s how it works!
If you are a
UK taxpayer,
 |
You donate your entry fee plus 10% and GiftAid it |
 |
We say thank you by giving you a token worth £1 to spend in the Museum
café or shop |
 |
The Government repays us the tax on your gift – giving us an extra 25%! |
In terms of
pounds and pence,
 |
You pay us £9.35 |
 |
We give you a token worth £1, so your visit costs you £8.35 |
 |
The Government pays us £2.62 |
so your
visit costs you 15p less and benefits us £2.47 more!!
It’s a
give – give
win – win
proposition!
How you
can help us - and save money!
We hope you will enjoy your visit to the Weald & Downland
Open Air Museum.
The museum is a Registered Charity and can, therefore, take
advantage of the Gift Aid scheme.
If you pay tax in the United Kingdom, Gift Aid is a scheme by
which you can give a sum of money to a charity, which can then claim from
the Inland Revenue basic rate tax on your gift.
You can imagine the difference this makes to the finances
of the Museum. With your help we can preserve the historic buildings and
unique archives in our care for future generations to enjoy.
We ask for your help by completing a brief declaration. To do
so, you must:
 |
Be a UK taxpayer and have paid Income Tax or Capital Gains
Tax in the last or current financial year. |
 |
Show your name, address, postcode and the amount you have
donated. |
If you prefer you can
print the form from here and complete it before your visit.
If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim further tax
relief on your Self Assessment tax return - retain your ticket as proof of
your donation.
That's all! You will not be contacted further on this matter.
If you do not wish to receive news of future events, just tick the box below
your signature on the declaration.
Thank you, in anticipation of your donation towards our work.
