Upppark House West Sussex

Uppark (National Trust) has superb 18th century interiors successfully restored after a major fire, lovely gardens and a spectacular setting.  Award winning multimedia exhibition shows the restoration process.  (8 miles)

Goodwood House is close by and is home to the Duke of Richmond and Gordon.  Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival Meeting, both premier events in the international motor sports calendar are hosted by the estate.  Goodwood racecourse is one of England's most spectacular venues for horse racing.  (3 miles)

The Cass Sculpture Foundation.  Since its establishment in 1992, the charity has annually commissioned 20 exemplary monumental sculptures from emerging and established contemporary sculptors. The foundation is located in Goodwood close to the Museum.

Stansted House, set in 1750 acres of glorious park and woodland is a prime example of the Caroline revival in architecture.  Rebuilt after a fire in 1903 it offers a fascinating insight into the social history of an English country house in its Edwardian heyday.  (8 miles)

Parham, is an Elizabethan manor house and gardens dating from 1577.  Still a private home it is filled with beautiful furniture, paintings and textiles.  (12 miles)

Tangmere Military Aviation Museum tells the story of Military flying from the earliest days with special emphasis on the Royal Air Force and Tangmere and the air war over southern England in World War 2.  (6 miles)

There is nearly 1,000 years of history at Arundel Castle situated in magnificent grounds overlooking the River Arun in West Sussex and built at the end of the 11th century by Roger de Montgomery, Earl of Arundel. The oldest feature is the motte, an artificial mound, over 100 feet high from the ditch, and constructed in 1068: followed by the gatehouse in 1070.  (12 miles)
