Percheron foal Sampson

Percheron foal born at Museum

Olwyn, the Museum’s 4-year-old Percheron mare, gave birth to a male foal in the early hours of Wednesday 11th July 2018. Museum horseman, Mark Buxton, has named the foal Sampson. Mare and foal are both doing well.

Heavy horses, Olwyn and Ollie, arrived at the Museum in spring 2017 aged three years. This pair of Percherons joined the Museum’s team of working heavy horses, which also includes Shires Mac and Major. Olwyn was sent to stud back art Harbridge Farm last year and her foal will provide the Museum with its next generation of working horses.
