Wonderful Wednesdays Summer Holiday Activities – 9 August

Wednesday 09 August 2017
11.00am - 4.00pm

Wonderful Wednesdays are fun-packed activity days for children, which take place every Wednesday in August.

Every Wonderful Wednesday, accompanied children can enjoy trying a wide range of arts, crafts and traditional countryside activities as part of a day out at the Museum. Each Wednesday has a theme based on the elements: earth, fire, water and air, culminating on the final Wednesday with a ‘best of all the elements’ day.

There are lots of opportunities to get hands-on and activities will vary every week, so come back and try something new! Activities run from 11am-4pm each Wednesday in August and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please wear clothes suitable for playing outdoors.

About the Museum

The Museum’s collection of 50 rescued historic buildings, set in 40 acres of parkland, are great places to explore. Learn how food was prepared in the Tudor kitchen, see how a watermill works, watch the blacksmith at work, and spot the traditional farm animals – there are Shire horses, Sussex oxen, Southdown sheep, pigs, chickens and geese. The Museum’s waterside café will be open, plus there are indoor and outdoor picnic areas. Dogs on leads are welcome and there is ample free parking. Regular entry charges apply and the Museum will be open from 10.30am to 6pm.
