Museum at Night October (Ticketed)
Our Museum at Night walks offer a truly out of the ordinary experience. You will be guided by lamplight to different spaces around the Museum, to hear a series of short night-time stories with a smuggling theme. Some will be amusing, some mysterious and some downright odd. Some are definitely not the stuff to ensure sweet dreams. Each story has a historical root, as truth is far stranger than fiction.
At the end of the evening, gather around an open fire for a calming spiced warm drink and a biscuit.
Not for the under 16s or the faint of heart! Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are £25 each and can be booked online. Tickets are strictly limited and must be booked in advance.
Guests should arrive at 6.45pm and meet at the Museum shop for a prompt 7.00pm start. Walks will last approximately 2 hours.
Please note that there is limited seating in the Museum’s historic houses and the evening will involve an amount of walking on uneven surfaces. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear, as some paths are uneven. Torches or lanterns are optional – your tour guide will light the way.
For reasons of health and safety, dogs are not permitted at this event.
Photography and video recording is not permitted. This is out of respect for our other guests and in order to preserve the atmosphere of the event for all involved.
