Jeremy Houghton - Woolly Bottoms

Light, Space, Movement and Change (Ticketed)

Tuesday 01 August 2017
Talk begins at 6.30. Refreshments from 6pm.

The talk

To coincide with the opening of an exhibition at the Museum of his work, Jeremy Houghton will discuss his inspiration and working method. He creates artworks that depict the dynamic world. The subjects and places that characterise these scenes are illuminated by the way that he shapes the spaces between things, and the spaces in which bodies linger, shimmer, move and often take flight.

The speaker

After training at the Slade School of Art and the University of Provence, Jeremy Houghton’s formative years as an artist were spent in South Africa as Head of Fine Art at The International School of Cape Town. On returning to England, and the village of his childhood – Broadway, he set up a studio and fully devoted himself to evolving a personal aesthetic. Jeremy is currently Artist in Residence, Land Rover Ben Ainslie Racing, America’s Cup, and in 2015 was Artist in Residence at Goodwood and in 2014 Artist in Residence at Windsor Castle.
