Easter Celebrations and Activities 30 March – 13 April

Celebrate Easter with a visit to the Museum, where you will find a wide range of traditional activities that the whole family will enjoy.

Easter weekend

From Good Friday 30 March to Easter Monday 2 April visitors can experience traditional Easter preparations and celebrations, which begin with the traditional Good Friday bake in Winkhurst Tudor kitchen.

Activities vary each daily and include egg painting, bonnet making and an Easter bonnet parade in the Market Square on Monday 2 April. Take part in the Easter Egg Hunt around the Museum site for a chocolate prize!

Easter holiday activities

From 3-13 April, children can get involved in ‘make and take’ craft activities and play traditional games. If the weather is kind, take a horse-drawn wagon ride for a small donation.

There are woodland walks, play areas and over 50 historic rural buildings to explore, together with traditional farm animals to meet including Shire and Percheron heavy horses, working Sussex oxen, and teddy bear-faced Southdown sheep and their lambs.

Information for visitors

Standard admission charges apply (free for Annual Members) and the Museum will be open from 10.30am-5.30pm.

Some Easter activities request a donation and these are clearly marked on the activities flyer available from the shop.

The Museum’s waterside café will be open from 9am-4.00pm and there are also many delightful picnic spots.

Visitors with disabilities are advised to read our accessibility page in advance of their visit. Dogs on short leads are welcome and there is free parking.
